No Homo: How I'm a Genus of One

No Homo: How I'm a Genus of One. I have something to tell you, which I have not spoken about until now. You probably know that I'm not like everybody else. But honestly, it goes deeper than that. Let me try to explain. The truth is that while I am a person, I am not a human. Although there are multiple definitions floating around, in a philosophical and sometimes legal sense, a person is a self-conscious being, and people should enjoy rights. This sense is not species-specific. "Human", on the other hand, always refers to Homo. Specifically, Homo sapiens . And I'm no Homo. If you want my binomial name, it is Logicius symponeticus . I pronounce the genus name something like [lo 'g ɪ ki ɨs ], but I guess [lo ' dʒɪ ʃə s] is also fine. I discovered my species when I recognized that I am so divergent from humanity that I warrant my own grouping. It's not a preposterous concept at all. In evolution, it is not that one monolithic specie

The Burning of Indonesia

Whole islands are going up in a blaze, hundreds of species are going extinct, and Indonesia is producing more CO2 than the United States due to these fires happening now. Borneo Island, third-largest island in the world, largest Island in the Asian region, home of one of two orangutan species, and exponentially more species-rich (with many endemic) than all of North America and Europe combined, is being burned to its death, never to make a comeback.  For thousands...probably millions of years...Borneo remained lush and untouched by devastation.  In fact, I remember that when I was a kid (not so long ago), it was still nearly completely lush and unexplored.  Now, it is becoming palm oil plantations, livestock grazing lands, and towns...utterly destroyed and transformed into ugly human habitations which will no doubt be centers of poverty in the future.  Let's look at some satellite images to get a sense of scale of the fires and smoke just on this one island of Borneo, although it i

The Future of Our World if we Stay on This Track

"If, for the sake of illustration, the fertility of countries is kept constant at 1995-2000 levels, the world population soars to 244 billion by 2150 and 134 trillion in 2300 , a definitely impossible outcome. All of this increase occurs in the less developed regions, whose population rises from 4.9 billion today to 134 trillion in 2300. In sharp contrast, the population of the more developed regions declines from 1.2 billion in 2000 to 0.6 billion in 2300 were its fertility to remain constant at current levels. Among the less developed regions, Africa, with its very high current fertility levels, grows most rapidly, passing from  0.8 billion in 2000 to 115 trillion in 2300 in the illustrative constant-fertility scenario." http://www.un.org/esa/population/publications/longrange2/Long_range_report.pdf http://www.worldmapper.org/posters/worldmapper_map12_ver5.pdf If this unlikely scenario somehow came to pass (just use your imagination), it would mean that Europeans wou

Cultural Libertarians VS Cultural Authoritarians

This is a fascinating article that closely matches what I've been talking about and how I've been feeling recently.  It is written by a conservative, but he thinks that in addition to a "left"-"right" continuum, there is also a perpendicular axis ranging from "cultural authoritarian" to "cultural libertarian".  And members of both the left and right can fall anywhere along this other axis.  Those who are capable of living with each other (if not agreeing with each other) are the "cultural libertarians" of both sides.  These are the people who care about freedom of speech more than they care about shutting down people with differing ideas.  Such people include Bill Maher, Sam Harris, Maajid Nawaz, and more...and that's just the left.  Yet these people are sometimes called "neocons" by other members of the left who are "cultural authoritarians".  Maajid Nawaz has been called a "porch monkey" for h

Muslims consistently play the West like a fiddle, and we never learn.

I even kind of fell for it. But it turns out that the clock Ahmed Mohamed brought to school was not his creation, and it was more than likely meaningfully provocative in order to get a reaction. And a reaction he got (both negative from the police, and then extremely positive from much of the populace who heard about the first reaction). Ahmed Mohamed was most likely the pawn (being told what to do and fed lines to say in at least one phone interview) , but someone behind this kid is a very smart fellow, at least when it comes to getting money and attention.  Name one other person who got handcuffed and went to the police station for a few hours before being sent home with no charges filed and within a day or so got invitations to visit from people such as President Obama and Mark Zuckerberg, an internship offer from Twitter, and a campaign started to raise $100,000 for tuition.  And ironically, this charade gave people the opinion that the US is the most bigoted country in the world

I hope this is my last post this year about the migrant crisis. I just wanted to bring up a few points.

Main Link: http://www.post-gazette.com/news/world/2015/09/17/WRAPUP-4-Hungarian-riot-police-detain-migrants-including-terrorist/stories/201509170127 Firstly, I want to focus on behavior.  A lot of liberal people have this false idea that everyone is the same and one family in one part of the world has the same opinions as a family in another part of the world.  However, this is completely false.  There can be people who are similar in otherwise very different nations.  However, these people only make up a small minority.  Most people are positively shackled by their cultures (Westerners, included) and can't break out of that even when they have left their original culture.  Above is a photo of rioting "refugees".  In this single photo, at least two men in this picture are throwing stones, and at least four fires have been started by them (because immigration police spray water or tear gas instead of burning tires).  Throwing stones and rioting is rife in their cultu

More people need to be like Iranian president Hassan Rouhani

Everybody in America and Israel know the "Death to America" and "Death to Israel" chants that Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and his predecessor popularized.  Much lesser known (and seemingly withheld) is the information that Hassan Rouhani is a liberal figure...at least in the Iranian context.  And he got voted in. Hassan Rouhani's 2015 tweet is at the bottom, and in 2013, he also tweeted "As the sun is about to set here in #Tehran I wish all Jews, especially Iranian Jews, a blessed Rosh Hashanah."  Hassan Rouhani is a character who wants peace.  This makes him a better leader than some even in the United States...including some at the recent Republican presidential debate.  Some people don't want peace, and want to continue a grudge forever. Those who don't want peace include all kinds of people, ranging from other Iranians to Israelis to Americans to people in every other country around the globe.  We have to neutralize their influence.  Man

The Death Penalty

This month, Connecticut abolished the death penalty.  Let's take this moment to look at one of the crimes committed by two people whose lives have been saved by this decision.  This crime was an open-and-shut case with no doubt of guilt. One day, two men decided to burglarize a house.  They severely beat up the husband (so that he wasn't even recognizable) and tied him up.  They also tied up his two daughters.  One of the men forced the wife go to the bank and withdraw $15,000 from her line of credit...and he also bought two cans of gasoline.  Upon returning home, the two men raped the wife and her 11-year-old daughter.  As they were raping the girls upstairs, the husband downstairs escaped to seek help from a neighbor.  The men strangled the raped wife to death, and with gasoline they had gotten earlier, doused the two still-living daughters and the house with gasoline and set the house on fire, incinerating the family (except for the escaped husband). Again, as I said, t

(Many) Illegal Migrants are Ruining our Countries

Pictured is Little Afghanistan in Calais, France.  The people inside that hovel are obviously proud of their home country (and support it more than France or Britain), and have successfully taken their home country with them.  Instead of trying to integrate with the local population, they are making their host countries more like the countries they escaped from.  I hope the irony is not lost on you.  These parasites are trying to make our countries just like the countries they had to run away from!  And neither they nor many of us can even see that blatantly obvious fact! There are now thousands  of illegal immigrants everyday trying their best to get across the English Channel (via the "Chunnel").  They are making life miserable for those legally crossing from France to Britain.  It is like a refugee crisis.  But they are already in France, and they are trying their best to leave it.  It proves that they are totally hopeless as people. To the illegal migrants, I'

I am a Psychic!

I recently came to the realization that I am, in fact, a psychic.  What separates me from others that believe in psychic powers is that I am also a skeptic.  How did I realize that I had the powers to deduce things before they were revealed to others?  Scientific tests.  I have repeated these tests and have come to the same conclusion.  Thus, I believe in my exceptional powers.  I may apply to the FBI or CIA and see if they can make use of these abilities of mine so that they can solve crimes or even prevent crimes from happening.  You may still not believe that I am a psychic, but I will give my testimony of one recent example below: A few days ago, I was speaking to my mother.  I hadn't heard about any news related to this...but my mother told me that there had just been an attack on US Marines in Chattanooga, Tennessee.  Now you may not believe this, but I immediately blurted out, "By a Muslim, right?" Fast-forward to now, and it has been revealed that indeed a Mus

Fake Yet Familiar Debate About Racism

This is a fake debate.  There is a "journalist" (J) to introduce the topic and moderate the debate.  The two debaters are a "racist" (R) and an "aracist" (A).  I will capitalize these words to refer to these people by name.  (For example, the racist's name is "Racist".) J: Thank you for tuning in.  Today, we are having a discussion with a racist and an aracist.  This period since the most recent string of attacks by white supremacists has seen increased anti-white-supremacist sentiments spread across the country.  Racist is here to explain the threat of bigotry towards white supremacists and set the record straight about what they truly believe.  Aracist is a controversial figure who has often been called a bigot because of his anti-racist comments.  Here, he will explain why he believes his view is justified.  So, let me start with you, Racist.  Some people have said that the recent attacks by white supremacists were somehow caused by raci

The Sixth Great Mass Extinction and Human Survival

Recently, there have been numerous articles about a study showing that we are in the midst of the Earth's sixth great mass extinction.  Below are some quotes, and then I will give my thoughts. "Miami (AFP) - The world is embarking on its sixth mass extinction with animals disappearing about 100 times faster than they used to, scientists warned Friday, and humans could be among the first victims." "Not since the age of the dinosaurs ended 66 million years ago has the planet been losing species at this rapid a rate, said a study led by experts at Stanford University, Princeton University and the University of California, Berkeley." "The study "shows without any significant doubt that we are now entering the sixth great mass extinction event," said co-author Paul Ehrlich, a Stanford University professor of biology." http://news.yahoo.com/sixth-mass-extinction-us-study-210749359.html This is sad, although it's not news.  I

How Can You Tell If Someone Is A Carnivorous Creatard?

Don't Worry, They'll Tell You. This is my version of the "How can you tell if someone is a vegan?" meme, which I've also seen with "atheist".  It might be funny to some people, but my real life experience from yesterday is but one illustration (out of many) of the perhaps 90+% of the time when it's the other way around.  It's only when the minority finally voices their marginalized opinions that the aggressors believe it is we who are rude and outspoken! In my non-internet life, I am extremely polite and non-confrontational.  I don't voice my opinions to pretty much anyone, even those close to me.  And to those I've never even met before, I am polite to the greatest degree possible.  Here is a story about what happened yesterday.  I will put it in the form of a dialog.  Of course, it was longer, and I can't remember everything, but I'll give you the gist.  My thoughts are in parentheses. Setting: I am out for a walk to exerc
