Trump appears to already be teetering on the brink and (apparently lawfully) acting like a dictator. At the same time, far leftists are (successfully and illegally) trying to stop free speech. This is where we're at, folks.
With regards to Trump, it is scary that he mentioned (even if this was seen by both sides as a "joke") that he might send US troops into Mexico to deal with "bad hombres". With Australia, he said the deal for accepting migrants was "dumb" and he might reconsider it. That is crazy. This is an agreement with another nation, and you can't just send off a tweet calling it into question without consulting with anyone. (Well, you can, but it's a terrible idea.) Honestly speaking, now into his presidency, people really do need to take away Trump's tweeting privileges. Sometimes, it's better if not every single thought and whim is put directly out to a global audience for anyone to see. The good thing is that there are zero secrets kept from the American (and any other nation's) people. The bad thing is that there are zero secrets kept from the American (and any other nation's) people. There really is the chance that the world can be shaken up in the next four years - in good and bad ways, but the bad ways can be extremely scary.

On the other hand, you have the "organized violent attack and destruction of property at UC Berkeley’s Martin Luther King Jr. Student Union" by "about 150 masked agitators" which led to the forced cancellation of a speech by Milo Yiannopoulos. These things have been happening with increased frequency and starting long before Trump took office. These people hate those with other opinions, and will violently attack them for disagreeing. They are completely against freedom of speech, while calling themselves "liberals". And since vanishingly few liberals speak out against them, I can only assume that many modern-day "liberals" are OK with this thuggish behavior. This is the kind of stuff I saw before the election that made me choose an orange clown who says what is on his mind over having these kinds of people retain the upper hand. There has been so much anti-white rhetoric (probably mostly by other whites themselves), anti-male rhetoric, borderless-world-or-you're-a-racist rhetoric, Islam is peace rhetoric and more, that it made me sick and although I voted a nearly straight Democratic ticket in non-presidential races, I voted for the orange clown to be president so someone would be there to counter these hordes who are so intolerant that they make the "intolerance" of their enemies pale in comparison (but I also voted for Democrats so someone would be there to counter him).

Time will tell which group is the more radical. The USA appears to be more divided than any time since the Civil War, and I don't see an end in sight. The problem is that the middle has pretty much died. Logic has pretty much died, and hyper-partisanship has replaced it. One group thinks that MSNBC is telling them the truth in a fair way (which is a joke) and the other group thinks that any criticism of Trump is totally invalid and that Trump must be followed like a religious prophet. If things continue as they have for the past decade or two, this could turn into a messy divorce.
Here is my request to everyone reading this: Think about which "side" you are on. Then, find ONE...just one...idea that the other side holds which is better than one idea that your side holds. You should be able to do that. If somehow you can't, that's a problem, but in that case, find ONE instance when someone on the other side was treated unfairly by your side. There is no excuse if you don't find one example, because if you don't, then you are not really trying, and that attitude is what got us to where we are. So try to find one good thing about the other side or one unjust action taken by your side against someone on the other side. That may help destroy this "absolute good vs absolute evil" narrative that has taken hold on both sides.
